How to choose your Airbnb listing title

There are few characters more important for your marketing than those 50 previous letters and spaces you have to sell your place in your Airbnb title. So, how best to use them and make sure you stand out?

As always, consider your ideal guest: Who are they? What are they looking for? What do you have that appeals to them?

There’s little benefit to repeating information that will already be clear from the searches potential guests have made, by adding the location or number of bedrooms, for example. Use those characters to add value.

Be direct and clear and name your biggest selling point. Avoid generic words like ‘beautiful’. If you’ve a parking space in an inner-city location, squeeze ‘with parking’ into the title; if there’s a pool or hot tub, access to a beach, a sea view or similar mention them here. In the winter I sometimes add ‘cosy’; think about how your selling points might change seasonally. Focus on the key selling points for your ideal guests.

If you’re keen to maximise direct bookings, take the chance to send savvy guests towards your own website or social media by adding a brand name. I include the name of The Snug in mine; it’s one of the reasons I wish I had chosen a shorter name for my brand, though!

Make a change: as with all of your Airbnb listing, its worth trialling things and seeing what works. Never be afraid to make a change.
